Osteoarthritis is one of the most common joint conditions. It is a result of both aging and regular wear and tear. Under normal conditions, cartilage in the joints acts as a cushion between bones. When that cartilage starts to break down and wear away, the bones begin to rub together causing pain, swelling, and stiffness. Simple movements are now difficult.
