BIOFLEX® Laser Therapy
What is Laser Therapy?
Laser Therapy, commonly referred to as Low-Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT), Photobiomodulation, and Cold Laser, is a light-based technology that has been proven to be highly effective in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, as well as wound healing, among other benefits.
The advantages of Laser Therapy are supported by over 4,000 research articles and 500 clinical investigations. At Okanagan Laser Solutions, we utilize the BIOFLEX® Professional Laser System, which has been designed and developed by Meditech International Inc. in Canada. This sophisticated laser therapy device is entirely non-invasive, making it an attractive choice for patients looking for effective and gentle treatment options. There are no contraindications to care.

How it Works
Lasers emit photon energy. This energy is absorbed by a compound within millions of cells called “mitochondria”, resulting in a higher rate of ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate) production. ATP is the only fuel source for all of our cells and it thereby stimulates the healing process. Ultimately, more ATP means faster healing.
Laser therapy also helps with:
-
Stimulating the immune system
-
Improving lymphatic drainage
-
Promotion of new blood vessels
-
Improved range of motion
-
Promotion of new collagen and elastin
Laser Therapy Benefits
The Benefits of Laser Therapy are evidenced by more than 4,000 scientific publications, with 400 clinical studies affirming the effectiveness of light therapy. Additionally, Photobiomodulation therapy is backed by 1,500 human clinical trials.
The BIOFLEX® Professional Laser System promotes healing at the cellular level rather than merely alleviating pain and other symptoms temporarily. The light penetrates deeply into injured tissues, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Healing occurs as laser therapy enhances the generation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which acts as the “fuel” for your cells, thereby increasing energy availability for tissue repair and recovery. Laser therapy can return normal cell function, addressing chronic conditions, alleviating pain and inflammation, restoring mobility and range of motion, while also reducing scar tissue formation and accelerating healing. One significant advantage is that patients frequently find they can lessen their reliance on medications and, in some cases, even avoid surgery.

BIOFLEX® Laser Therapy employs scientifically formulated and clinically validated protocols that enhance the treatment effectiveness for a wide variety of clinical conditions. This technology utilizes superluminous and laser diodes (SLD) to address injured or diseased tissue through photons. These energy particles are selectively absorbed by cell membranes and intracellular components, triggering a series of intricate physiological processes that restore normal cell structure and functionality.
BIOFLEX® Laser Therapy Treatments
The advantages of Laser Therapy are supported by over 4,000 scientific articles and 500 clinical investigations.
Our laser therapy treatments are a three-step process. The BIOFLEX® Professional Laser System utilizes superluminous diodes (SLDs) and laser probes to treat and repair injured tissue with photon energy. It is through the combination of our red SLD array, infra-red array, and our infrared laser device that our treatments see such great success. Each array operates at a different frequency, allowing for different levels of penetration into the tissue and optimal saturation of the injured tissue. During each laser therapy session, you will receive all three individual therapies.
As specialists in Laser Medicine, our therapists draw upon the best available research and over 25 years of practical experience to identify and effectively manage all your health issues. Utilizing our cutting-edge BIOFLEX® Laser Therapy systems combined with condition-specific protocols, we can accurately address the root cause of your health concerns, leading to the alleviation of symptoms.
When you book a session with one of our therapists, you will have their undivided attention and time. We conduct a thorough assessment to accurately identify your condition, create the best possible treatment strategy for you, and offer guidance at every stage of the process.
Laser therapy treatments are covered by private insurance under Chiropractic and Physiotherapy benefits.
