Meet Our Staff

Dr. Markus Thiel

BPE, RT, CLT, DC

Dr. Thiel has been serving Kelowna and the Okanagan community since 2001. During his 15 years of post-secondary education, he acquired the designations of Sports Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, and Doctor of Chiropractic.

Prior to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Thiel practiced at Vancouver General Hospital Health Sciences Centre, the provincial trauma centre for British Columbia, as an attending Respiratory Therapist. His coverage included the ER, trauma units, and the various ICU’s including spinal, cardiac, burn, and neurological units.

Prior to that, Dr. Thiel cycled South East Asia and trekked the Himalayas for 2 years. He attempted Mount Everest in 1987. He has 4 children and in 1995 he attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. In May of 2000, Dr. Thiel graduated and was granted a degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He has been in Kelowna ever since.

Christine Grusen

CLT

Chiropractic Assistant and Certified Laser Therapist

Christine was raised in Revelstoke, BC. Growing up, she enjoyed a wide variety of all the outdoor amenities Revelstoke has to offer. Moving to Kelowna in 1998, she continues her love of outdoor activities like hiking with her dogs, biking, and most recently paddle boarding on our beautiful lakes.

Christine has been working with Thiel Chiropractic since 1999 as a Chiropractic Assistant, and Certified Laser Therapist.

She sees a wide variety of injuries and conditions coming into the clinic, and patients having full resolution on a daily basis. She has a genuine desire to help people achieve their health goals.

She brings a warm and inviting feeling to our office, and patients always look forward to the seasonal decorations and event draws that she puts together. She takes exceptional pride in caring for each and every patient.

Shelly Stephens

Medical Office Assistant

Shelly has been in Kelowna since 1989 and loves the Okanagan lifestyle. You can find her running, biking, swimming, and walking with her three boys: Larry, Scrappy, and Scooby. Shelly has worked in the customer service industry all her life. She has been a patient of Dr. Thiel’s for many years and always had great results from Dr. Thiel’s laser and chiropractic treatments. Shelly now enjoys being part of the team.

Mathew Aschenbrenner

BHKIN, CPT, CLT

Senior Laser Therapist

Mathew has been living in Kelowna since 2007 where he enjoys baseball and weightlifting. His passion for athletics and coaching high performance baseball has led him to pursue his Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus. During his studies, he has completed his certification to become a personal trainer with specializing in athletic training, muscular fitness, and weight loss.
